Newcastle and Kangaroos star Best has opened up on his contract dealings with Peter O’Sullivan before his departure to Brisbane.
Kangaroos center Bradman Best has explained his frustration with former Newcastle Knights recruitment boss Peter O’Sullivan, admitting he felt "disrespected" by how initial contract discussions were handled before O’Sullivan joined the Brisbane Broncos. Best noted communication issues caused talks to stall, though he acknowledged both parties were looking out for their own interests.
Best remains off-contract and has drawn interest from the Parramatta Eels, but stated his loyalty lies with Newcastle. The Knights have offered him a three-year deal worth around $1 million per season with ratchet clauses, and discussions have included a possible fourth year.
