Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that defender Ezri Konsa was substituted during their 2-1 Champions League victory over Slavia Prague due to workload and injury concerns. Konsa started alongside Gabriel Magalhaes before being replaced by Cristhian Mosquera shortly after the hour mark. Arteta explained post-match that Konsa had played many games recently and experienced some physical issues, leading to the cautious decision.
The substitution leaves the 29-year-old center-back as a potential doubt for Arsenal's upcoming Premier League match against Hull City. If Konsa cannot play, William Saliba could make his first appearance of the season after recovering from a back injury, though he remained an unused substitute against Slavia Prague.
