Chelsea & Liverpool make contact to sign £54m star from rivals with the player ready to move

Chelsea and Liverpool have reportedly established contact regarding the potential signing of Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi, according to TEAMtalk. The 27-year-old Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium under manager Mikel Arteta following the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes. Zubimendi is now reportedly open to departing Arsenal, and the club is prepared to sanction an initial loan exit.

While Chelsea and Liverpool have both been alerted to his availability, the report notes that Liverpool are not currently considering a move after failing to sign him previously. Several European clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund, have also shown interest or been informed of the midfielder's status ahead of potential moves in January or next summer.
