Man Utd plotting audacious swoop on PL rivals to sign £29m star with 6.67 duels won/game – journo

Manchester United are interested in signing Manchester City left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri ahead of the January transfer window, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg. The 25-year-old Algerian international is reportedly open to leaving the Etihad Stadium after failing to register any Premier League minutes this season under manager Enzo Maresca, who has preferred Josko Gvardiol and Nico O'Reilly.

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick is facing a fullback shortage following injuries to Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu. While personal terms are not expected to be an issue for a permanent move, the fierce rivalry between Manchester United and Manchester City could present an obstacle in negotiations.
