A heartfelt statement has been released by Williams.

Williams has released a statement paying tribute to Alan Jones, the team's first Formula 1 world champion, who died at the age of 80 following a brief illness. Jones passed away on Wednesday, just three days after his 80th birthday. His wife, Amanda, confirmed his passing through a statement issued by Motorsport Australia on behalf of the family.
Jones delivered Williams its first drivers' championship in 1980 during only the team's fourth season in Formula 1. Over his 117-race F1 career, the Australian secured 12 wins and 24 podiums. Following his F1 career, he competed in sports cars and later worked as a motorsport broadcaster and FIA driver steward.
