Chelsea eye Newcastle United midfielder ahead of January transfer window

Chelsea are reportedly keeping tabs on Newcastle United midfielder Lewis Miley ahead of the January transfer window. According to journalist Simon Phillips, the Blues are regularly scouting the 20-year-old England Under-21 international alongside Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly, Josh King, and Harrison Armstrong as they prepare for future transfer windows. Phillips reported that Chelsea have previously contacted the representatives of some of their midfield targets.

Miley has made 89 appearances across all competitions for Newcastle, contributing six goals and eight assists. He remains a key part of manager Matthias Jaissle's plans this season, having started seven matches and featured twice off the bench. Given his versatility and first-team experience, Newcastle are reportedly eager to retain the academy graduate at St James' Park.
