After five seasons split between Edmonton and Vancouver, veteran winger Evander Kane pivots to Russia, signing a 2026-27 KHL deal following a challenging stint of NHL injuries.

Former Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks forward Evander Kane has signed to play in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League for the 2026-27 season. His agent, Dan Milstein, confirmed the move to the KHL and noted that Kane will likely end his career in the NHL.
Milstein revealed that Kane received multiple offers to continue playing in North America before ultimately deciding to sign in Russia. Kane entered unrestricted free agency following a 31-point campaign with Vancouver, having previously helped Edmonton make back-to-back Stanley Cup Final appearances.
