The Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears were supposed to engage in an epic showdown on Monday night, but only Chicago showed up ready to play.

The Chicago Bears defeated the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 on Monday night, snapping Seattle's 686-day streak of avoiding losses by more than four points. Chicago dominated the trenches, with new acquisition Jeffrey Simmons outperforming Seattle's recent offensive line addition Quenton Nelson as the Bears continuously pressured quarterback Sam Darnold.
Jonathan Eig of 12th Man Rising argues that Seattle suffered from severe special teams errors, poor play-calling, and a lack of reliable offensive weapons outside of Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Eig also contends that Seattle's rushing attack sorely missed Kenneth Walker, as Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price struggled to generate explosive plays.
