The Boston Celtics make a quiet decision involving a first-round draft pick following their win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Here's what changed.

The Boston Celtics assigned 2026 first-round draft pick Chris Cenac Jr. to their NBA G League affiliate, the Maine Celtics, on Thursday. The decision followed Boston's 109-102 victory against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night, a game in which head coach Joe Mazzulla left the 19-year-old rookie on the bench.
Cenac, drafted 27th overall in June out of Houston, has appeared in three NBA games this season, averaging 2.7 points in limited action. Boston views the rookie frontcourt player as a developmental prospect, utilizing Maine's season opener on Friday night to provide him with regular playing time.
