Chicago Cubs' third baseman Alex Bregman is finalist for a Louisville Silver Slugger award, and it caps off a rollercoaster first season in Chicago.

Chicago Cubs third baseman Alex Bregman has been named a finalist for the National League Silver Slugger Award. Jordan Campbell of Cubbies Crib writes that this nomination validates the Cubs' five-year, $175 million free-agent investment in the 32-year-old infielder, despite an early-season slump that drew criticism from fans.
Bregman finished the campaign batting .265/.355/.464 with 28 home runs and a 128 wRC+. Campbell highlights that Bregman hit 19 home runs with a 176 wRC+ after the All-Star break, arguing his strong finish will be essential for the Cubs' offense heading into the 2027 season.
