Brewers’ Jake Bauers uniquely positioned to make Silver Slugger history as nominations arrive

Milwaukee Brewers slugger Jake Bauers has been named a finalist for two Louisville Slugger Silver Slugger awards in 2026. Following a breakout season where he posted an .873 OPS, Bauers earned nominations at both first base and the utility position. A victory in both categories would make him only the second player in MLB history, and the first in the National League, to win two Silver Slugger awards in a single season.

At first base, Bauers faces competition from Matt Olson, Alec Burleson, and Rafael Devers. In the utility category, his fellow finalists are Fernando Tatis Jr. and Sal Stewart. The award winners will be announced on November 17, with Milwaukee teammates Jackson Chourio and Brice Turang also in contention for honors.
