Manchester United will receive compensation for JJ Gabriel; however, the 16-year-old's prospective transfer to Real Madrid has led to demands for a rule change…

Paul Merson has urged authorities to change transfer rules that allow young players like Manchester United's JJ Gabriel to move abroad at 16. Real Madrid has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign the 16-year-old, who can complete the overseas transfer with FIFA approval by using a European Union passport.
Manchester United is expected to receive only £100,000 to £300,000 in training compensation after offering Gabriel a scholarship earlier this year. However, United is reportedly considering legal action against any European club that signs him, as the teenager remains registered with the club despite requesting a cancellation.
