The Story in 60 Seconds

Washington Nationals prospect Elian Soto, the 20-year-old younger brother of superstar Juan Soto, hit his first Arizona Fall League home run on Wednesday night. Playing for the Salt River Rafters, Soto crushed a 103.2-mph, two-run blast during a 9-8 victory over Scottsdale. The home run extended his streak of reaching base safely to all six games played since his arrival in the league.

Soto received a late-season call-up to the AFL following a breakout 2026 campaign with Single-A Fredericksburg, where he recorded a .824 OPS and 121 wRC+. Signed by Washington in 2023, the left-handed hitter overcame early offensive struggles in rookie ball by adjusting his mental approach.
