The Buffalo Bills' rookie defender has taken hold of a starting spot in the secondary as a rookie in Western New York opposite Christain Benford, and the stats support that decision by Bills' defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard.

Buffalo Bills rookie cornerback Davison Igbinosun is emerging as a standout in the team's secondary after securing a starting role under defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard. According to Pro Football Focus, Igbinosun leads all NFL rookie cornerbacks with a 23.3 percent forced incompletion rate. Through his first seven games, the 2026 second-round draft pick has recorded 28 total tackles, eight pass breakups, and his first career interception.
Igbinosun has started four games opposite Christian Benford, taking over a starting position from 2025 first-round selection Maxwell Hairston. Despite the Bills' defense struggling overall by allowing 254.7 passing yards per game, Buffalo holds a 6-1 record. John Green writes that Igbinosun's strong play provides optimism for the secondary heading into a Week 9 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
