The Wizards can't maximize their offense without getting AJ Dybantsa more involved and encouraging him to play with greater aggression.

Wiz of Awes writer Ethan Kinney argues that the Washington Wizards need rookie AJ Dybantsa to become more assertive to fix their 21st-ranked offense. Despite having a strong defense and hovering around a .500 record, Washington relies too heavily on Anthony Davis face-ups and Trae Young pick-and-rolls. Kinney asserts that getting Dybantsa more shots and treating him as an offensive priority is the easiest way for the team to improve.
Dybantsa recently had his minutes restriction lifted following an early-season sprained ankle. Through his first four games, the rookie has averaged 16.5 points, five rebounds, and two assists on 13 shots per game. Kinney suggests the Wizards should increase Dybantsa's shot attempts to around 16 or 17 per game to help relieve the team's offensive struggles.
