Sunderland were back in Europa League action on Thursday night…

Sunderland suffered a 2-0 defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League on Thursday night, worsening the club's recent run of form. Sunderland Echo writer Phil Smith assessed the squad's performance, issuing several low marks following the disappointing European result.
In his player ratings, Smith gave defender Kevin Danso a rating of 3 after he struggled defensively and was caught out for the second goal. Goalkeeper Robin Roefs received a 5, while right-back Thomas Meunier earned a team-best 6 among the evaluated defenders before being substituted at half-time.
