With Washington facing a roster logjam, the former first-rounder is seeking a top-six role elsewhere. Agent Dan Milstein confirms a trade search is active but remains patient.

Washington Capitals forward Ivan Miroshnichenko has received permission to seek a trade, but no deal is imminent according to his agent, Dan Milstein. Speaking on the Daily Faceoff Insider show, Milstein confirmed that they are working collaboratively with the Capitals to find a new team where the 2022 first-round pick can secure a regular top-six role.
Miroshnichenko has appeared in only three NHL games this season, averaging 11:05 of ice time while facing a roster logjam in Washington. The 20-year-old forward is currently signed to a two-year, $1.85 million contract extension carrying a $925,000 annual cap hit through the 2027-28 season.
