Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar's patience is up and he is shifting his approach. What is he focusing on to right the ship?

The Colorado Avalanche are not panicking despite a rocky and inconsistent start to the season, according to head coach Jared Bednar. Following a heavy 7-2 defeat against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Bednar stated that he plans to adjust his approach to resolve the team's ongoing lapses in engagement and defensive commitment.
Colorado currently sits fourth in the Central Division with 19 points and a 9-6-1 record through 16 games. While the Avalanche have suffered only one regulation loss at home, they have dropped five games on the road, prompting players Cale Makar and Nazem Kadri to emphasize the need for increased focus and finding another gear.
