Another week with the Canes at No. 1, but a big shakeup in the Top 5.

The Carolina Hurricanes retain the top spot in the latest ESPN NHL Power Rankings, while ESPN analysts Sean Allen and Victoria Matiash assessed fantasy hockey surprises across all 32 teams. The weekly rankings combine ballots from an ESPN hockey panel covering regular-season games through Wednesday.
Several young players and unexpected starters have produced significant fantasy value, including Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jacob Fowler, who has posted a 7-1-1 record, and Boston Bruins rookie forward James Hagens. Other highlighted performers include Edmonton Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Florida Panthers defenseman Seth Jones.
