Robbie Avila is returning to college basketball with Saint Louis after a court injunction granted the former Los Angeles Lakers rookie a 5th year of eligibility.

Former Los Angeles Lakers rookie Robbie Avila has been granted a preliminary injunction enabling him to return to college basketball with Saint Louis for a fifth year of eligibility. After playing for the Lakers during summer league and subsequently being waived prior to the regular season, Avila is expected to suit up for the Billikens against Missouri.
The decision follows an order by a U.S. District Court judge in Colorado granting a class-wide preliminary injunction for high school Class of 2022 athletes whose eligibility expired in the spring. Under the injunction's terms, returning athletes are barred from transferring, requiring Avila to rejoin Saint Louis.
