He was released by the Warriors earlier this year.

The Penrith Panthers have officially announced the return of young halfback Jett Cleary on a two-year permanent contract beginning in 2027. The younger brother of star halfback Nathan Cleary came through Penrith's pathways before making his NRL debut late in 2026 with the New Zealand Warriors. Panthers general manager of rugby league Shane Elford expressed excitement about welcoming him back following his strong development.
Jett is expected to push for a starting spot alongside Nathan in the halves, with rival contenders Jack Cole joining the Perth Bears and Blaize Talagi potentially departing. Meanwhile, Nathan is reportedly finalizing his own extension worth up to $1.7 million per season, rejecting rival interest to remain at Penrith and play alongside his brother.
