The Story in 60 Seconds

Celtic midfielder Mika Baur has been selected for Antonio Di Salvo's Germany Under-21 squad after missing out on Jurgen Klopp's senior team. The 22-year-old was named in the 23-man group alongside AS Monaco forward Paris Brunner and Club Brugge's Nicolo Tresoldi following his strong performances for the Scottish side.

Baur joined Celtic from Paderborn for £6 million in August and has established himself as an almost ever-present starter under Martin O'Neill, featuring prominently in their recent 3-2 victory over Besiktas. Although omitted from the latest senior squad, Klopp previously praised Baur's technical ability, intelligence, and adaptation to Scottish football after handing him his senior international debut against Serbia.
