Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has stated that summer signing Bradley Barcola will primarily play as a winger following a difficult experiment playing him as a striker. Barcola struggled in the central role during Liverpool's 3-2 Champions League defeat against Fenerbahce, leading the manager to confirm the Frenchman will be deployed out wide roughly 90 percent of the time moving forward.
The loss to Fenerbahce followed a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, putting pressure on Liverpool ahead of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace. Iraola also praised striker Alexander Isak, who scored off the bench against Fenerbahce, calling him the closest thing to a guaranteed goalscorer.
