Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic believes traditional low-post basketball could largely disappear from the NBA within the next five to 10 years because of the physical contact defenders are allowed to use.

Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic predicted that traditional low-post play could largely disappear from the NBA within the next five to 10 years. The three-time MVP made the remarks following Denver's 128-109 victory against the Toronto Raptors, arguing that officials allow defenders far too much physical contact around the basket compared to perimeter defense.
Jokic noted that players are increasingly reluctant to operate in the low post due to uncalled fouls and the physical toll of absorbing pushing and grabbing. He posted 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists in three quarters during the win over Toronto.
