The Chicago White Sox organization has a $4.0 million pre-agreement in place with top Dominican shortstop Ransiel Herrera.

The Chicago White Sox reportedly have reached a $4.0 million pre-agreement with Dominican shortstop Ransiel Herrera, according to reporter Wilber Sanchez. The deal represents the second-largest commitment across Major League Baseball for the 2029 international signing class. Herrera was previously linked to the White Sox by Chicago Sun-Times reporter James Fegan.
Herrera, a 14-year-old switch-hitter, recently represented the Dominican Republic at the 2026 U-15 World Cup, batting .316 with seven RBIs across seven games. He currently develops at the Sandy Nin Academy in the Dominican Republic and remains several years away from officially signing with the organization.
