Beşiktaş manager Vincenzo Italiano criticized his defense, claiming his side gifted Celtic all three goals during their 3-2 defeat in the Europa League. Junior Olaitan opened the scoring for Beşiktaş in the 54th minute, but Celtic substitutes Callum Osmand and Camilo Durán turned the game around. Although Orkun Kökçü equalized in the 86th minute, Durán netted a late winner to secure Celtic's first victory in the league phase.
Italiano expressed extreme disappointment with his team's avoidable errors, particularly lamenting the quick response to Kökçü's equalizer. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill credited planned substitutions for the dramatic turnaround after a quiet first half.
