Former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers offered a detailed critique of Giannis Antetokounmpo, questioning his basketball IQ, offensive fit, defensive effectiveness and leadership.

Former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers offered a sharp critique of Giannis Antetokounmpo during an interview with Bill Simmons. Rivers stated that the two-time MVP does not possess a "super IQ," is difficult to coach due to his downhill play style, and must improve his execution during practices. He also questioned Antetokounmpo's defensive impact on the ball and his tendency to dominate possession.
Rivers argued that Antetokounmpo is more effective as a screener and roller rather than dominating the ball. He also discussed Antetokounmpo's need to step up as a leader with the Miami Heat, where the forward is averaging 27.3 points and 12.7 rebounds across a 3-6 start to the season.
