The Buffalo Sabres felt they had to make a change. And so on Friday, they’ve made a clear decision involving center Ryan McLeod that is bound to shake things up — and potentially lead to more alterations down the road…

Buffalo Sabres center Ryan McLeod appears set to be a healthy scratch for Friday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. During Friday morning's skate, head coach Lindy Ruff reorganized the forward lines, leaving McLeod out of all line rushes as Jiri Kulich returned from injury to join Josh Norris and Jason Zucker.
McLeod has struggled early this season, recording just one goal and a minus-7 rating. The Sabres have been outscored 10-4 during his five-on-five minutes, leading to mounting criticism over defensive mistakes and uncertainty regarding his long-term role with the team.
