The Lakers are 7-2, and Luka Doncic is making a fairly convincing argument that having him on the floor solves a lot of problems. Taking him off it? That’s another story. Zach Lowe of The Ringer pointed to that contrast…

Zach Lowe of The Ringer described Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic as completely unguardable and named him the early NBA MVP favorite. Through eight appearances, Doncic has led the Lakers to a 7-2 start while averaging 38.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game.
Lowe highlighted that the Lakers are plus-21 per 100 possessions with Doncic on the court, compared to minus-17 when he sits. Sam Amico notes that while Doncic is shooting 49.5% from the field and 43.1% from three-point range, the team faces questions about its supporting cast when he rests.
