Brian Windhorst believes the Cleveland Cavaliers need Evan Mobley to be great if they hope to contend for an NBA championship, but the $269 million star has yet to reach that level.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst stated that the Cleveland Cavaliers need forward Evan Mobley to elevate his play from good to great following the team's 4-4 start. Speaking on his podcast, Windhorst argued that Mobley must perform like a superstar to justify his supermax contract, particularly after consecutive losses to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Heavy writer Kyle Mucerino highlights that Mobley is earning over $50.1 million this season against a top-heavy Cleveland payroll. Mucerino questions whether the 25-year-old former Defensive Player of the Year has reached his ceiling, noting his lack of dominant playoff impact and scoring under 19 points per game throughout his career.
