Otávio: Tottenham and Crystal Palace in mix for €20m arrival – Officials working on it
Key Things to Know
  • Tottenham and Crystal Palace sent scouts to watch Cruzeiro goalkeeper Otávio in Brazil.
  • Cruzeiro reportedly demand at least €20m for the permanent transfer of the 21-year-old goalkeeper.
  • Crystal Palace scouting head Alessandro Brito previously attempted to sign Otávio while working at Botafogo.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace have both scouted 21-year-old Cruzeiro goalkeeper Otávio during a derby match against Atlético-MG on October 29. Palace's head of scouting, Alessandro Brito, previously attempted to sign the Brazilian shot-stopper during his time at Botafogo and retains strong interest in securing a permanent deal. Neither Premier League club has made a formal offer yet, though representatives were in attendance to evaluate the player.

Cruzeiro reportedly value Otávio at no less than €20m (£17.3m) following his recent contract extension until 2031 and senior Brazil call-up under Carlo Ancelotti. Nottingham Forest previously explored a €13m bid in June, but Cruzeiro are expected to entertain higher proposals ahead of the January transfer window.
