Will Pirates’ Lowe Win Silver Slugger? Examining His Case

Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Brandon Lowe and Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang have been named finalists for the National League Silver Slugger Award. Writer Danny Demilio examines Lowe's strong case to win the honor following a standout debut campaign in Pittsburgh. Lowe led all MLB second basemen in home runs, slugging percentage, and OPS during the 2026 season.

Demilio notes that Turang holds statistical advantages in on-base percentage, runs, walks, and RBI, in addition to winning a World Series title. However, Demilio argues he would personally vote for Lowe due to his superior power production, hitting 14 more home runs than Turang. The Silver Slugger winners will be announced on November 17.
