Jim McLennan attended an Arizona Fall League game between the Salt River Rafters and the Peoria Javelinas, providing updates on several Arizona Diamondbacks prospects. The Javelinas defeated the Rafters 5-3 in a sloppy contest marked by 22 combined free passes, four errors, and 12 stolen bases against Salt River catcher Miguel Rodriguez. Diamondbacks position player Nathan Hall went 1-for-2 with a double, while Demetrio Crisantes drew two walks.
The defeat moved the Rafters' record to 13-13, leaving them 2.5 games out of first place with three games remaining before the playoffs. On the mound, Arizona prospect Joe Ariola surrendered the game-tying run on a balk, though he maintains a 3.38 ERA across 7.1 innings this fall. Fellow Arizona pitching prospect Patrick Forbes has also impressed with a 2.16 ERA, while Luke Craig and John West have struggled with double-digit ERAs.
