After being released on Friday afternoon, the Seahawks signed running back Velus Jones Jr. back to the practice squad.

The Seattle Seahawks released running back Velus Jones Jr. on Friday afternoon before promptly re-signing him to the team's practice squad. The roster move opens up a spot on Seattle's 53-man active roster ahead of their upcoming home matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
Jones has played limited snaps across six games for Seattle during the 2026 season, tallying 28 rushing yards on nine carries. The transaction arrives as Seattle manages multiple injuries, with key starters Sam Darnold, Rashid Shaheed, Quenton Nelson, Leonard Williams, and Uchenna Nwosu all ruled out for Week 9.
