The Story in 60 Seconds

Bleedin' Blue's Michael Meyer argues that St. Louis Blues winger Connor McMichael's 12-game goal drought stems from a lack of shot volume rather than bad luck. Acquired in a trade for Jordan Kyrou, McMichael has not scored since October 8 despite recording nine points through 16 games. Meyer emphasizes that getting the forward back to an aggressive mentality must be a key priority for head coach Jim Montgomery.

According to the analysis, McMichael's shooting percentage remains stable at 9.1 percent, but his attempts have dropped to 1.4 shots per game. McMichael has also seen his average ice time dip to 15:40 per contest. With the Blues holding a 7-7-2 record, Meyer writes that the team urgently needs McMichael to generate more shots to revitalize secondary scoring.
