CBS Sports named the Texas Rangers a prime fit for Randy Arozarena, but stealing the aging outfielder would end up being a costly mistake.

Nolan Writin' writer Jeff Speicher argues that CBS Sports insider Mike Axisa's prediction linking free agent outfielder Randy Arozarena to the Texas Rangers would be a mistake for the club. Axisa suggested that Texas could use Arozarena as a full-time designated hitter and a right-handed power bat to add grit alongside Corey Seager and Brandon Nimmo.
However, Speicher contends that Arozarena is a poor fit for president of baseball operations Chris Young's stated goal of getting younger and more athletic. The article highlights Arozarena's defensive decline, high projected cost of around four years and $100 million, and the draft pick penalty attached to Seattle's qualifying offer as key reasons to avoid signing him.
