The New York Knicks came to Taylor Swift's defense after two players called her the "fakest" fan and "performative" during a TikTok stream.

The New York Knicks issued a statement publicly supporting pop superstar Taylor Swift after guard Tyler Kolek labeled her the franchise's "fakest" celebrity fan. Kolek made the remark alongside teammate Miles McBride during an NBA 2K livestream, claiming Swift's attendance during the team's championship run was performative.
In response to the controversy, the Knicks defended Swift's longtime fandom and highlighted her extended history with Madison Square Garden. Swift previously attended Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals at the arena, where the Knicks went on to defeat the San Antonio Spurs to win the title.
