"Sometimes it's just other teams throwing [stuff] at the wall and just see what sticks and make a stir in other buildings."

Members of the New England Patriots organization are reportedly baffled by rumors suggesting cornerback Carlton Davis is being shopped ahead of the NFL trade deadline. According to Boston Herald reporter Andrew Callahan on his Pats Interference podcast, Davis is not being actively shopped despite external speculation that New England might look to get younger at the position.
Davis forms a solid cornerback trio alongside Christian Gonzalez and Marcus Jones for the 5-3 Patriots. With limited proven depth behind the starters, including inexperienced options like Charles Woods, moving Davis is viewed internally and by analysts as counterproductive to New England's playoff push.
