Writer Joe Giachetti evaluated the Tennessee Titans' performance across position groups during their midseason bye week, reflecting on their 1-7 start. Quarterback Cam Ward has thrown for 1,483 yards, six touchdowns, and five interceptions through eight games, while running back Tony Pollard remains on pace for a 1,000-yard season. Giachetti highlighted rookie wide receiver Carnell Tate winning Offensive Rookie of the Month for October as a rare bright spot.
Giachetti argued that offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has failed to spark overall offensive progress, whereas head coach Robert Saleh has managed player relations well. Defensively, linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. has recorded 82 tackles, and safety Amani Hooker leads the secondary with five interceptions. However, Giachetti concluded that the Titans' pass defense and inconsistent quarterback pressure continue to hinder the team's competitiveness.
