Sam Amico of Hoops Wire argues that the New Orleans Pelicans must do a better job of involving primary scorers Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy III. In a 115-109 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, the duo combined for only 17 field-goal attempts. Williamson finished with 13 points on 10 shots, while Murphy posted 10 points on seven attempts as New Orleans had its four-game winning streak snapped.
Amico highlights that Jeremiah Fears led the Pelicans with 24 points, while Dejounte Murray contributed seven points and coach Jamahl Mosley oversaw the offense. Defensively, New Orleans surrendered 17 offensive rebounds to Minnesota, and Herb Jones fouled out early in the fourth quarter when the Pelicans yielded 38 points. Amico concludes that the Pelicans need to better organize their offense to utilize their key scoring threats.
