Liverpool midfielder Trey Nyoni has earned his first full call-up to the England Under-21 squad for upcoming friendly matches against Portugal and France. The 19-year-old was previously promoted from the Under-20s last month without playing, but he is now in line to make his debut following an impressive breakthrough run as a key starter for Liverpool.
Nyoni scored his first senior goal for Liverpool against Fenerbahce in midweek and leads the club in several statistical metrics, including interceptions and line-breaking passes per 90 minutes. Alongside senior team call-up Rio Ngumoha, Nyoni is one of only two Liverpool players selected across England's senior and Under-21 squads this month.
