Former Liverpool elite development coach Vitor Matos has credited his tactical style at Swansea City to his time working under Jurgen Klopp. Now managing Swansea in the Championship, the 38-year-old Portuguese coach has guided his side to fifth place with eight wins in 14 league matches.
Matos stated that Liverpool heavily influenced his approach to pressing, intensity, and aggressive off-the-ball play. He worked alongside Klopp from 2019 until their departures at the end of the 2023-24 season, winning the Premier League title together in 2020.
