Luka Doncic continued his historic run in the Los Angeles Lakers' 124-118 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA Cup on Friday.

Luka Doncic scored 53 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a fourth straight victory in an Emirates NBA Cup matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. Following the performance, the NBA announced that Doncic's 361 points through nine games are the most by any player since Wilt Chamberlain in the 1962-63 season. Doncic joined Kobe Bryant as the only players in franchise history to score at least 40 points in four consecutive games.
Doncic is averaging 40.1 points per game while shooting career-best numbers from the floor. Lakers head coach JJ Redick praised the team's resilience but noted they still have work to do as the 8-2 Lakers prepare to face the Detroit Pistons next.
