Once Nikita Kucherov has made up his mind on something, it seems unlikely that he'd go back on it. So, remaining past the season with the Lightning doesn't feel like it will happen.

Tampa Bay Lightning winger Nikita Kucherov is reportedly unlikely to back down from his desire to leave the franchise, according to hockey insider Frank Seravalli on Edmonton Sports Talk. Seravalli stated that Kucherov is not bluffing regarding his public discontent and contract extension situation, expressing genuine frustration after speaking with general manager Julien BriseBois only twice since becoming eligible to sign.
According to Seravalli, the Lightning remain firm on an offer around $15 million per year, leveraging Florida's lack of state income tax. However, Kucherov reportedly feels undervalued in negotiations, drawing comparisons to former franchise captain Steven Stamkos's departure.
