Mavericks’ Cooper Flagg Sends Strong Message on Rookie After Career Night

Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg strongly praised rookie teammate Morez Johnson Jr. following Dallas' 112-100 win over the Utah Jazz on November 6. Johnson delivered a breakout performance off the bench, recording his first career double-double with 13 points and 17 rebounds, including 10 offensive boards, in under 24 minutes. Flagg commended Johnson's effort and extra-possession creation, noting its importance to the team's culture.

Dallas head coach Dusty May, who previously coached Johnson to a national title at Michigan, praised the rookie as a winning player regaining his form after an early-season shin injury. In the victory, P.J. Washington led the Mavericks with 26 points, while Flagg contributed 21 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists to move Dallas to a 5-4 record.
