Miami Heat veteran forward Andrew Wiggins has endured a difficult start to the regular season after a strong preseason run, according to Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald. Through the opening nine games, Wiggins stated he is not sure why he has struggled so much, noting he must focus on the little things to get back on track.
Wiggins is currently recording career lows across nearly every major statistical category, with the Heat sitting at minus-14.3 points per 100 possessions during his minutes. Despite these early offensive and defensive difficulties, head coach Erik Spoelstra expressed confidence in the forward's capability to regain his defensive impact and work through the slump.
