Ollie Chessum says that he relishes being an on-pitch leader after being tipped as a long-term successor to England skipper Maro Itoje.

England forward Ollie Chessum has addressed links tipping him as a future national team captain, stating that while leadership ambitions could feature down the line, current skipper Maro Itoje holds the role. Chessum, who captains Leicester Tigers, highlighted that captaincy naturally finds the right individual and noted he is learning from the team's experienced leadership group.
Ahead of England's clash with Australia at Allianz Stadium, Chessum also downplayed recent Premiership scuffles with international teammates Henry Pollock and Ellis Genge, calling them close friends. He acknowledged fan frustration regarding past performances but voiced confidence in the squad's emerging talent.
