This former Blue Jackets goalie is playing some strong hockey with the Red Wings.

Former Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Daniil Tarasov is off to an impressive start with the Detroit Red Wings. Tarasov joined Detroit this offseason on a one-year, $2 million contract following a stint with the Florida Panthers. Despite a 2-2-2 record, he currently holds a 1.79 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage, ranking near the top of the league among goaltenders with at least five appearances.
Tarasov has posted a .923 save percentage or better in four games this season, including a 30-save performance against the Montreal Canadiens. Writer Michael DeRosa notes that maintaining this level of play could earn the former 2017 Columbus draft pick a significant raise on his next contract.
