Rielly left the game against the Canadiens, with no update provider after the game by Jim Hiller.

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly suffered a lower-body injury during Saturday's game against the Montreal Canadiens. Rielly initially left in the first period, attempted to return for a shift in the second period, but was unable to continue and did not return to the ice. Coach Jim Hiller provided no specific update postgame but acknowledged that losing the defenseman is a big blow.
The injury occurred on the same night forward John Tavares returned to Toronto's lineup. Rielly has recorded 12 assists through 18 games this season. With defensemen Nick Blankenburg and Marshall Rafai also sidelined, Spencer Lazary suggests Rielly's potential absence could provide an NHL opportunity for prospect Ben Danford.
