Despite the kid gloves the Nets have treated their rookie with, Mikel Brown Jr.'s ankle is fine. And more importantly, so is his back.

Brooklyn Nets rookie Mikel Brown Jr. confirmed his health is sound as the team carefully manages his minutes to build long-term strength. Despite previous back and ankle concerns, sources confirmed his back is structurally fine, and Brown emphasized that his development is focused on weight room progression and adapting to NBA physicality.
Brown scored 18 points in Brooklyn's 124-121 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. Head coach Jordi Fernández praised Brown's playmaking and pick-and-roll ability, while teammate Terance Mann projected him as a future All-Star. Brown remains held out of back-to-back contests, sitting out Sunday's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks.
